Frequently asked questions about Lanzarote hotels
What is the most lively resort in Lanzarote?
If you’re looking for resorts to party and have a good time in Lanzarote, you’ll want to stay in Puerto del Carmen. Just about any resort in Puerto del Carmen is extremely lively every night of the week, and so is Avenida de las Playas, the main road that runs along the beach.
What is the most touristy part of Lanzarote?
The most touristy part of Lanzarote is probably Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise, as this is where the majority of all-inclusive resorts on the island are located. Just because they’re touristy doesn’t mean they’re not worth visiting though! For example, my favorite beach in Lanzarote—Playa Papagayo—is just a stone’s throw from Playa Blanca.
Where is the quietest place in Lanzarote?
The quietest place to stay in Lanzarote is either Puerto Calero (if you’re looking for resort hotels) or Caleta de Famara (if you’re looking for holiday rentals). Puerto Calero is the main marina in Lanzarote and definitely leans more upscale. On the other hand, Caleta de Famara is a great option for those looking to get a slightly more local slice of Lanzarote life!
Best Lanzarote Hotels: Costa Teguise
Costa Teguise is a great option for first time visitors to the island looking for the best Lanzarote hotels to stay in. Situated north of the capital and only 15 minutes from the airport, it’s a great base for anyone wanting to have a central location for their holiday, and its also easily accessible to the best Cesar Manrique sites towards the north of the island.
€€€ | 5 Star | Luxurious | Design-forward
We stayed at this resort when we visited Costa Teguise and absolutely loved our experience. The all-inclusive rate had us feeling all kinds of pampered with unlimited poolside cocktails and a relatively high-quality buffet three times a day. The salt water pool is HUGE and hosts daily workout events like water aerobics, while the on-site spa treatments were so relaxing AND affordable. On top of that, the design of the space feels right in line with the Manrique-inspired aesthetic of the entire island. All around one of the best Lanzarote hotels for your perfect Lanzarote vacation!

€€ | 4 Star | Peaceful | Beachfront
Guests RAVE about the food at this resort, located mere steps from Costa Teguise’s beautiful main beach. I’m personally a fan of Barceló’s huge pool area, as well as the option to choose an ocean-facing room with an outdoor jacuzzi. And that’s not to mention the additional raised infinity pool…

€ | 4 Star | Spacious Rooms | Laid-Back Atmosphere
Just because this place is affordable doesn’t mean it’s can’t cultivate the perfect desert-island holiday vibes! This resort is great for families as many of the rooms are suites & apartments designed to accommodate more than just a couple. The greenery throughout the property, as well as the whimsically shaped pools, project an un-pretentious vibe just begging you to chill out and enjoy thoughtless days in paradise.

€€€ | Desert Chic | Modern | Private
This villa located on the outskirts of Costa Teguise is a gem! It can sleep up to 8 in four separate bedrooms, which makes it the perfect base for a group trip. Decorated with a minimalist touch that really highlights the surrounding desert island atmosphere, this property also features a private pool. Literally what more could you want?!

Best Lanzarote Hotels: Playa Blanca
Playa Blanca is situated in the south of the island and is ideal for families, or those looking for a relaxing holiday at the beach or by the pool. It’s a very popular area, so if you’re thinking of staying in Playa Blanca, book early!

This luxury resort is beloved by reviewers for its impeccable service, multiple pools, and private beach access which all help it stand out among other Lanzarote hotels. If you plan to spend a lot of time at the beach or marina during your stay in Playa Blanca, Hotel Cordial Marina Blanca is the place for you. Updated and spacious rooms are a stone’s throw from dining, shops, entertainment and the water!

€€ | 5 stars (Vrbo) | Tastefully Furnished | Great Amenities
We need to be honest about something for a second here – Lanzarote is beautiful and has some stunning architecture thanks to Cesar Manrique, but much of the accommodation options available (especially in more touristy areas) couldn’t exactly be considered design-forward. This villa is a very welcome exception!! Located in the hills above Playa Blanca, it offers unmatched views of the sea alongside cozy furnishings and amenities such as a communal pool, jacuzzi, pool table, and BBQ.

Best Lanzarote Hotels: Puerto del Carmen
If your priority is proximity to nightlife, then look no further than Puerto del Carmen. This is without a doubt the best area on the island for bars and clubs, and the atmosphere is lively and fun every evening! The central location and great beaches also can’t be beat.
€€€+ | 5 Star | Upscale & Trendy | Modern Luxury
Every room at this hotel is a suite, so you’re guaranteed to have a lush time at Hotel Fariones. Despite the seclusion provided by a grove of palm trees around the pool, the property offers direct beach access. Chic design elements like modular sofas and wicker chairs throughout the common areas of the hotel carry right on into the spacious suites as well. Overall, I’m actually super bummed I didn’t get the chance to stay here and it tops my personal list of Lanzarote hotels for my next visit!

€€ | 3 Star | Immaculate Grounds | Private Terraces
Situated away from the at times hectic atmosphere of Puerto del Carmen’s main drag, Casas Heddy is still just a stone’s throw from the beach and the action – so you’ll get the best of both worlds. Because Casas Heddy is a wellness centered resort, your stay will provide access to a gym, indoor heated therapy pool, physiotherapists, and more! I love the relaxing atmosphere of the dining/pool area, and the rooms themselves are spacious and serene.

€ | 5 Star | Hidden Gem! | Sustainable Family Farm
I absolutely HAVE to recommend Finca Isolina to anyone looking for something extra special on a budget. What a find this place is!! Located on the outskirts of Puerto del Carmen, this finca (roughly meaning “rural estate” in English) is a working sustainable farm that offers luxury guest stays in what can only be described as vibe-y digs. Relax in the solar energy-heated pool, get a spa treatment on-site, or marvel at the uniquely Lanzarote-style vineyard just adjacent to the main building. Plus, people absolutely rave about proprietors Marco and Silvia. This place is one of the Lanzarote hotels that is MORE than worth checking out!

€€€ | 5 stars (Vrbo) | Thoughtful Decoration | Private Pool
If a bit of privacy is what you’re looking for, then look no further than Palm Villa. We stayed at this property for four nights and absolutely LOVED having our own pool, plenty of sunbathing options throughout the garden, and an outdoor shower. The indoor bathroom is just as lovely, the place includes a washing machine, and it’s tastefully decorated inside as well. It also includes a dedicated parking space. I could go on about why we loved staying here but just go and see for yourself!!

Best Lanzarote Hotels: Arrecife
Arrecife is, of course, the island’s capital, and if you’re after convenience and history – these Lanzarote hotels are for you. The city is located on the east coast of the island, and is a great location if you don’t have a car with you. It’s also home to some of Lanzarote’s best museums, shopping, food and nightlife.
€€€ | 5 Star | Upscale | Central Location
If you fancy feeling like royalty during your visit to Lanzarote then the Arrecife Gran Hotel is your spot. This high rise luxury hotel in the center of Arrecife features a gorgeous indoor pool area, in addition to an outdoor pool, two restaurants, two bars and a fitness center. You’ll enjoy the view from your floor-to-ceiling windows as much as you enjoy how easy it is to access all parts of the island from the centrally located capital city.

€€ | Cozy & Beachy | Huge Private Terraces
Ok so technically the La Concha Boutique Apartments are located in Playa Honda, a tiny beach town between Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen. However, it’s a quick 10-minute drive into central Arrecife from here and the exceptionally beautiful (and huge) terraces paired with beachy-chic interior design make these apartments unmissable.

You’ll feel like an Arrecife local taking advantage of the plush sofa, huge bathroom with rainfall shower, ample bedroom clothing storage space, and the biggest highlight – a terrace looking right across the street to the crystal blue Atlantic waters. Reviews of this place are glowing, and it’s not difficult to see why!

The more bohemian answer to Royal Marina Suites is Secrets Lanzarote. Featuring plush natural textures and color schemes in-room, as well as a row of swim-up suites, this hotel knows how to make you feel pampered. Equal attention has been paid to common areas, where the thatched roof bar in the middle of the pool will offer constant reminders of the paradise you get to call home for the week. € | Chic & Homey | Great Bathroom
For those seeking proximity to the water sports Puerto Calero is known for alongside the seclusion of a private villa, Casa Mia may be an excellent choice. Tastefully furnished and offering a spacious, luxurious bathroom, I think you’re going to love recharging at Casa Mia.

€€€+ | Huge & Private | Well Equipped
Another great option for groups looking to enjoy Lanzarote together! This villa is gigantic and sits within its own private, walled compound. Caleta de Famara is the best place to stay if you’re keen on surfing, or even if you’re looking to learn! While there aren’t any Lanzarote hotels out here, you will definitely some some extremely nice vacation rentals that should do the trick for a relaxing and fun-filled surfing holiday.
